FIUTS Ambassador Program

The FIUTS Ambassador program offers an opportunity for Seattle-area youth to connect with visiting international youth for cross-cultural friendship, learning, and growth.

FIUTS Ambassadors are youth ages 14-17 from the greater Seattle area who volunteer to be matched with a visiting international student from Bolivia or Peru during workshops and activities taking place between October 17-28, 2019. There is no cost to participate (meals and admissions tickets are covered by the program), and students can earn up to 15 service hours.

We are also seeking up to two graduate students or adult professionals to be Ambassadors for the two adult mentors in the program. If interested, please contact Kailyn Swarthout at

The  youth and adult mentors are participants in the Youth Ambassadors Program with Bolivia and Peru, an intensive leadership development opportunity for young people ages 15-17. More details about the program for Bolivian and Peruvian youth is here.

FIUTS Ambassadors will participate alongside youth from Bolivia and Peru for the following activities; dates, times, and locations are TBD and will be announced in late summer/early fall:

1) A cross-cultural teambuilding and leadership workshop on the UW campus

2) A group volunteer service project

3) A cross-cultural discussion event for local and international youth

4) A trip to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center and Museum of Pop Culture at Seattle Center

5) A final celebration dinner
